Le Conseil des droits de l’homme (CDH) tient pas moins de trois sessions ordinaires par an, qui ont lieu en mars (quatre semaines), juin (trois semaines) et septembre (trois semaines). Les sessions régulières du Conseil  servent de forum de dialogue sur les questions urgentes relatives aux droits de l’homme, thématiques et spécifiques à chaque pays, auxquelles la communauté internationale est confrontée. Le programme de travail triennal du Conseil des droits de l’homme pour 2021-2023 couvre les 46e à 54e sessions ordinaires qui se tiendront du 1er janvier 2021 au 31 décembre 2023. Ce programme de travail vise à mettre en évidence une variété de problèmes des droits de l’homme à travers le monde. A ce titre, l’Afrique a également été prise en compte dans différentes parties du programme, dont une année s’est presque écoulée.

Selon le programme de l’ONU, au cours des sessions 46 à 48, l’accent a été mis sur l’Afrique à travers le débat sur l’examen à mi-parcours de la Décennie internationale des personnes d’ascendance africaine et l’accent mis sur les conditions des droits de l’homme dans différents pays, notamment l’Érythrée, le Soudan du Sud, le Burundi, Mali, République démocratique du Congo, Kasaï, République centrafricaine, République centrafricaine, région du Tigré en Éthiopie. Des rapports sur le racisme systémique, les violations des lois internationales des droits de l’homme contre les Africains et les personnes d’ascendance africaine ont également été examinées ; Des questions telles que l’assistance technique et le renforcement des capacités ont également été examinées pour des pays comme le Soudan du Sud…
