60 million people fully vaccinated in Africa against Covid-19

In Africa 60 million people are fully vaccinated, which represents just over 4% of the continent’s population.

The global goal of immunizing 10% of the population of each country by September 30 was set last May by the World Health Assembly. As of September 29, 2021, a total of 6.1 billion doses of vaccine have been administered worldwide, the majority of which in rich countries.

Fifteen African countries, nearly a third of the continent’s 54 nations, have fully vaccinated 10% of their population against the new coronavirus, according to the World Health Organization. Seychelles and Mauritius have fully vaccinated over 60% of their population. Morocco follows with 48% as well as Tunisia, Comoros and Cape Verde, with more than 20%.
