Between 8 and 11 July, at least 300 people were killed in the capital Juba during clashes between government forces and former rebels. As the fighting raged, fighters stole food stored in the warehouse of the UN agency.
And a few days later, once the dust settles – but always latent chaos – it is this time civilians continued looting.
WFP – the largest humanitarian agency in the fight against hunger in the world – said they were « outraged » by the theft of this food which supposed to be distributed « to the poorest and most vulnerable » in a country that daily dark a little more into hunger (…)
