UN Report: « The State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World 2021 »

After a decline that began in 2005, the number of people affected by hunger in the world has been slowly increasing since 2014, a situation which has become even more complex due to the lasting effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the UN. The UN to provide in a new report titled « The State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World 2021 », the latest updates and trends in food security and nutrition.

UN report focuses on complementary food systems solutions that tackle the main drivers of food insecurity and malnutrition, namely conflict, climate variability and extremes, economic downturns and downturns and COVID -19, and which guarantee access to healthy and affordable food for everything. It will take an in-depth look at six transformational pathways to achieve this, drawing on best practices and lessons learned from around the world.

The State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World which is published annually by FAO, IFAD, WHO, WFP and UNICEF, will be translated into all official United Nations languages. It presents the progress made in the fight against hunger, the achievement of food security and the improvement of nutrition.
