Covid-19: with a million dead, the situation is serious in Europe
Director of the WHO regional office in Europe, Dr Hans Kluge at a press conference on the Covid-19 pandemic highlighted one million deaths in the European region.
France is expected to officially exceed the 100,000 dead mark very soon, and in Belgium, which has 11.4 million inhabitants, 23,603 people have died from Covid-19.
Hospitalization remains at high levels in all parts of the European region, according to the WHO. Last April, admissions linked to Covid-19 in hospitals and intensive care units in France reached the highest levels in a year.
