Demonstration against the presence of France in Chad
Me Max Loalngar, coordinator of the civil society opposition platform Wakit Tamma appreciates the support of the Chadian people who are now becoming more aware and participating in the fight for the independence of the country.
Several hundred people demonstrated on Saturday May 14 in N’Djamena, capital of Chad, against the presence of France in the country. Protesters accuse the French government of supporting the ruling military junta.
For Idriss Moussa, an Arabic-speaking teacher, who is present at the demonstration, if the Chadian people continue to suffer today since independence, it is the fault of France which prevents them from being truly independent.
The protest was organized by the civil society opposition platform Wakit Tamma. Me Max Loalngar, coordinator of the platform appreciates the support of the Chadian people who are now becoming more aware and participating in the fight for the independence of the country. « France is installing dictators over our heads. We are just asking that our people be respected. » he told AFP, quoted by africanews.
