Pakistan: bomb attack on a market killed 13 people and 47 others injured
At least 13 people were killed and 47 wounded when a bomb exploded Saturday in a market in a predominantly Shia area of the tribal areas in northwestern Pakistan, officials said.
The bombing took place in a crowded vegetable market in Parachinar, the main city of the Kurram tribal district near the border with Afghanistan. This district is known to be the scene of clashes between Sunni Muslims and Shias. Shias constitute about 20 percent of Pakistan’s 200 million people.
