Palestinian Children in Urgent Need of Psych-social First Aid
Recent killings increased the number of Palestinian children who have been victims of ruthless war to the total of 469 since early July. The war has had grave physical and mental impacts, destabilizing emotional and psychological conditions of people, especially children.
According to UNICEF, more than 370000 Palestinian children need immediate psycho-social first aid. Every family has experienced death, injury, loss of home, displacement, and similar challenges all of which damage the sense of security and safety and endanger children’s physical as well as mental health.
Children are deprived of their essential and primary rights and face with a variety of challenges such as serious school shortages, dealing with trauma, coping with the resulting conditions, and so on.
It is essential to mitigate the humanitarian disaster in the Gaza Strip and give children a sense of security which is an obvious right.
