During a Security Council debate on the protection of civilians and the preservation of humanitarian space, she underlined this high figure, urging the Security Council « to take strong and immediate measures » to support the « many resolutions » that the UN body adopted to ensure the protection of civilians, humanitarian and health workers, and of the humanitarian space.

The UN has also underlined that it is becoming increasingly difficult to provide humanitarian aid to those in need, as is the case in Ethiopia, Afghanistan or Yemen.

The UN has called on governments to create systems to « support aid rather than block it. » While states are to take action to combat terrorism, they must also ensure that their efforts in this area do not undermine humanitarian operations.
